Statistical analysis applied to sports data is becoming more and more popular in recent times, attracting the interest of sport managers, coaches, athletes, and fans. Scientific research in this field is growing: new methodologies are developed and new application contexts are explored; results are presented across an increasing number of books and scientific papers published in both specialized journals and in special issues devoted to particular subjects. In this article we show some statistical analyses performed by means of BasketballAnalyzeR, focusing attention – by way of example – on some aspects of the Toronto Raptors’ performance in the 2018-2019 NBA regular season. In that season, the Canadian team earned its first championship by defeating the Warriors 4–2 in the Finals. Kawhi Leonard was named Finals MVP and the Raptors became the first non-American team to win an NBA title.

Abstract
Kawhi Leonard was named Finals MVP and the Raptors became the first non-American team to win an NBA title.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
