The worldwide growth of cases of man’s domination over man raises many questions: why is this phenomenon still present (even increasing) too, although the value of freedom has been sanctioned by two revolutions, the American and the French? And despite the worldwide recognition of human rights in 1948? Can the current forms of ‘extreme’ exploitation be defined as ‘slavery’? And do they have a close relationship with ancient slavery, the Greek-Roman and the colonial? What are the structural and superstructural causes of this phenomenon? The author does not intend to answer all these complex questions, but more modestly wants to propose some interpretative remarks to start a common and interdisciplinary reflection on these forms of domination/submission.

Abstract
The worldwide growth of cases of man’s domination over man raises many questions: why is this phenomenon still present (even increasing) too, although the value of freedom has been sanctioned by two revolutions, the American and the French? And despite the worldwide recognition of human rights in 1948? Can the current forms of ‘extreme’ exploitation be defined as ‘slavery’? And do they have a close relationship with ancient slavery, the Greek-Roman and the colonial? What are the structural and superstructural causes of this phenomenon? The author does not intend to answer all these complex questions, but more modestly wants to propose some interpretative remarks to start a common and interdisciplinary reflection on these forms of domination/submission.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
