In this article, we propose an algorithm for the set-point-following performance assessment of a PID controller and for the retuning of the parameters in case the obtained response is not satisfactory. The technique is based on the SIMC tuning rules and can be applied simply by evaluating a set-point step response. Simulation and experimental results obtained with laboratory-scale equipment show the effectiveness of the methodology.

Abstract
In this article, we propose an algorithm for the set-point-following performance assessment of a PID controller and for the retuning of the parameters in case the obtained response is not satisfactory. The technique is based on the SIMC tuning rules and can be applied simply by evaluating a set-point step response. Simulation and experimental results obtained with laboratory-scale equipment show the effectiveness of the methodology.File in questo prodotto:
