The hot formability of the 2124/SiCp composites was investigated by processing map method. The temperatures ranged from 300°C to 525°C and strain rates ranged from 0.001 s-1 to 0.1 s-1. The calculations at 0.5 true plastic strain showed two domains which were considered safe for hot working deformation process. The first one was located at temperature of 325°C - 375°C and strain rates of 0.008 s-1 - 0.03 s-1 and the second one spaced widely on all strain rates and closing to temperature of 500°C - 525°C.

Abstract
