The introduction of the Emerald Ash Borer, Agrilus planipennis , into Europe can have severe impacts on native ash species and their ecosystems. Applying a new method of Environmental Risk Assessment helps to analyse the potential consequences of an infestation. Impacts on ecosystem services and biodiversity are assessed in urban areas and forest ecosystems. Here long term and short term impacts are estimated using two different temporal scales. The results show the overall impacts are rated as minor (short term) and moderate (long term) with medium uncertainty. The biodiversity seems to be affected the most, especially in the long term. Using this new method helps assessing the environmental risk of a pest and the uncertainty of this assessment
