The paper sheds new light on the huge work, still little known, that the architect from Brescia Antonio Tagliaferri carried out in Milan. Through the exam of his plans for three buildings along the via Dante, thanks also to unpublished documents preserved in Brescia in Tagliaferri's Archive, the paper proposes new contributions to the knowledge of the Milanese architectural culture of the last two decades of the XIX century.
