The paper describes the changes that affected the life style of well to do families in Brescia, during the XVII century, by means of the analysis of the interaction between people and objects inside the domestic space. The research illustrates the presence of various patterns of the domestic architecture and particularly of the rooms display and functions. The variety of model reflects the different social positions reached by aristocracy, on one hand, and, on the other hand, by merchants and artisans.
