In Burkina Faso, a safe drinking-water source is not available for 39% of people and only 17% have access to sanitation. The project “Water, health, hygiene and socio-economic development in the rural area of Béguédo”, developed by Medicus Mundi Italia, “Tovini” Foundation, SIPEC Foundation, Dakupa NGOs and Association of Burkinabè in Brescia, with the University of Brescia, aims at improving health and hygiene conditions and the access to safe drinking-water.
