Issues in Symbian S60 Platform Forensics.

This paper aims at presenting the real and complete structure of the Symbian S60 v3 (third edition) platform file system, which is considered one of the most secure and armored systems issued by Symbian Ltd. [12] in the last two years. By analyzing the unique features of security, which have been applied at the file system level, it will become clear how to develop applications for digital forensic purposes. Moreover, the limitations and main issues related to accessing the observable portion of the file system will be pointed out, and possible solutions will be presented.
