Abstract

In traditional Urban Analysis frameworks, data collection is a rather informal process, and data analysis is based on numerous redundant and context-dependent measures. In addition, when automating the analysis process, the knowledge of the domain experts is often scarcely considered. This paper describes a successful example of human-centred conceptual design, which allowed us to represent and organise the explicit and implicit knowledge of a team of architects and urban planners, using the ER model as a shared language between computer scientists and domain experts.
