This study explores the integration of instrumented crutches with augmented reality (AR) technology to enhance gait rehabilitation. The primary objective is to provide real-time kinetic feedback to therapists during rehabilitation sessions, thereby improving patient assessment and treatment outcomes. The instrumented crutches are equipped with sensors that measure forces exerted during use, transmitting data to an AR interface displayed through HoloLens 2 headsets. This interface allows therapists to visualize critical metrics, such as weight-bearing distribution, in real time. A comprehensive evaluation was conducted with both therapists and patients to assess usability, workload, and the overall effectiveness of the AR feedback system. Results indicate a positive reception of the AR interface by the therapists. However, challenges such as setup time and visual clarity of the AR displays were noted, suggesting areas for future improvement.
