This paper aims to examine how supply chains are structured and configured within Industrial Symbiosis initiatives; an aspect still largely overlooked in the literature. Focusing on the textile industry, one of the most resource-intensive and waste-generating industries worldwide, the study combines a scoping literature review with an empirical analysis of 29 Italian initiatives. A cluster analysis identifies four Industrial Symbiosis-Supply Chain configuration typologies, which are interpreted through the lens of Resource Dependence Theory. Results show that control over critical resources shapes power relations and supply chain structures across different stages of initiative maturity.

Abstract
This paper aims to examine how supply chains are structured and configured within Industrial Symbiosis initiatives; an aspect still largely overlooked in the literature. Focusing on the textile industry, one of the most resource-intensive and waste-generating industries worldwide, the study combines a scoping literature review with an empirical analysis of 29 Italian initiatives. A cluster analysis identifies four Industrial Symbiosis-Supply Chain configuration typologies, which are interpreted through the lens of Resource Dependence Theory. Results show that control over critical resources shapes power relations and supply chain structures across different stages of initiative maturity.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
