Architecture is the most significant testimonies of human presence on Earth. For this reason, it is not simply “tied” to the past; it is history par excellence. Yet its interpretation is often entrusted to the forms or ideals it conveys. The language used to tell this story draws on art, sociology and philosophy. This article aims to restore to the relationship between architecture and history the complexity it possesses, exploring the relations that architecture builds and modifies over time through three levels of historicity that interweave the process of architectural and urban design.

Abstract
Architecture is the most significant testimonies of human presence on Earth. For this reason, it is not simply “tied” to the past; it is history par excellence. Yet its interpretation is often entrusted to the forms or ideals it conveys. The language used to tell this story draws on art, sociology and philosophy. This article aims to restore to the relationship between architecture and history the complexity it possesses, exploring the relations that architecture builds and modifies over time through three levels of historicity that interweave the process of architectural and urban design.File in questo prodotto:
