In particular, the Italian T&C industry is anchored in local industrial clusters, rich in skilled human capital and artisanal traditions. Prato, a key textile industrial district, exemplifies Italy’s integration of tradition and modernity, showcasing a dynamic blend of small enterprises and innovative practices. The district’s history of adaptation to market changes, coupled with recent shifts towards circular economy (CE) principles, highlights the resilience and forward-thinking approach of the Italian T&C industry. This chapter examines the significant contribution of Italy’s T&C industry, emphasising its impact on the fashion sector, its commitment to sustainability, and the evolving landscape of CE and digitalisation practices. A grey literature analysis, coupled with multiple case studies from the Prato district, illustrates successful implementations of sustainable practices, digital innovations, and collaborative efforts to promote a CE. By leveraging digital tools and sustainable strategies, the Italian textile industry sets a benchmark for global standards, balancing environmental responsibility with economic viability.
