Abstract

The paper aims to reveal an unknown architectural heritage that appears to be devoid of value. Through the classification of the network of major decommissioned troposcatter military sites in Italy and the analysis of their architectural characteristics, a design method is proposed for their reuse and enhancement. This can be considered communication archaeology, where technology has determined the form and dimensions of the buildings supporting military electronic infrastructures.
