This contribution addresses the concept of beauty in architecture, placing it in relation to the surrounding environment and examining the importance of environmental responsibility and the human values that historical and cultural contexts represent. The challenges and opportunities of contemporary architecture are explored, with a focus on the relationship between humans and nature and the integration of local building traditions. Through examples such as the Vatican Chapel by Souto de Moura and the roccoli of Alta Valtrompia, it is illustrated how architecture can celebrate cultural identity and promote environmental responsibility. The role of dry stone structures in landscape preservation and the conservation of natural resources is also highlighted. The contribution concludes with a reflection on the relationship between the human body, nature, and atmosphere that unites the examples described.
