These are places where resources are scarce; where critical issues can overshadow any posi-tivity of this important, though uncomfortable, heritage. The chapter focuses on some examples of bottom-up urban regeneration, where the triggering of unseen human relations has become a main element for the metamorphosis of the peripheral urban landscape.
