La piazza del mercato di Brescia/The market square of Brescia

Il contributo vuole analizzare nello specifico urbano e architettonico i piani particolareggiati progettati e realizzati - per Brescia e per la piazza del Mercato in particolare - da Ludovico Beretta, ma anche porre l’attenzione sulla relazione, dal XVI secolo ad oggi, fra l’assetto normativo del commercio e le modifiche del quadro urbanistico e architettonico del centro storico di Brescia e della piazza del Mercato. Di conseguenza il focus verrà posto sulla regolamentazione del commercio fra ‘700, ‘800 e ‘900 ma anche sulle riforme neoclassiche e moderne della piazza./The contribution intends to analyze specifically from urban and architectural standpoint the detailed plans designed and built - for Brescia and for the Piazza del Mercato in particular – by Ludovico Beretta, but also to focus attention on the connection, from the sixteenth century to today, between the trade regulations and changes to the urban and architectural framework of the historic center of Brescia and the market square. Consequently, the focus will be placed on the regulation of trade between the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries, but also on the neoclassical and modern reforms of the square.
