Sustainable buildings with Light Steel Frame (LSF) structure represent a valuable reply to the European Green Deal (EGD) carbon neutrality target and the New European Bauhaus (NEB) of beautiful, sustainable, and together goals. The present paper presents the current innovation and readiness level of the LSF solutions for buildings, highlighting their challenges and potentialities in relation to the contemporary users’ needs and playing already a key role in the transition towards nZEB. The use of steel technologies together with dry stratified systems for the building is analyzed and presented by the different advantages capable of reducing the entropy of the building system, addressing environmental impacts, and meeting the demands of evolving market people-oriented. The paper presents the first results of the research and further works will be conducted to individuate future scenarios and use and develop methods and tools for the data digitalization and the sustainability level evaluation of steel products for the construction sector.
