Motherboard beach

Pineto is a small local tourist town in the Teramo province. It lies between the SS16 state road and the Adriatic coast railway. Both the collective service area and facilities are baricentrically placed in relation to the built up area and generally speaking offer an adequate, if somewhat basic service to tourists. The main cause for concern is the railway line, which limits access to and from the sea. What access there is very limited and tends to be promiscuous. The Motherboard layout aims at re-uniting the urban network along the west-east axis, from the hills to the sea. It also proposes to transform the national rail link, which is being modified as part of a regional infrastructuralization plan, into a local network of rapid surface transit systems running between all the small beaches along the Abruzzo coastline, which would improve the quality of the service and speed up journey times in the territory as a whole. The new urban route system, aims to re-establish a relationships between existing collective activities, and consequently create a new rapport with the Filiani park and the towns Sports facilities, which are to be reach by means of light duty overpasses crossing the railway line. To complete the expansion areas north of Pineto, the proposal is to build an experimental village which comprises housing, services and open areas for both public and private use which are to operate all year round. The layout is reminiscent of a vast 'motherboard occupying the territory right up to the railway and crossing over it to guarantee access to the sea.
