The 11th International Conference on Environmental Catalysis was held on-line from 6th-9th September 2020. The conference had originally been scheduled to take place in Manchester and significant credit should be given to Professor Christopher Hardacre, Organising Committee Chair, and all others involved for the magnificent and efficient way in which they adapted the meeting at relatively short notice to run in a virtual format. The meeting attracted ca 250 participants with a very wide geographical spread. It comprised 120 oral presentations and 40 posters. Sessions were arranged around the topical themes of Circular Economy – Chemical Recycling and Emerging Sustainable Polymers, Water, Emission Control, Biomass – Catalysis for Biomass Valorisation and Energy. This special issue of Catalysis Today comprises a selection of manuscripts related to presentations given at the meeting.
