Abstract

Nowadays, the low cost of smart objects and their variety in the mass market is resulting in a more and more pervasiveness of Internet of Things in our houses. This paper describes We@Home, a mobile application for smart home control that enables the collaboration within a group of people (e.g., a family) living in the same environment and interested in setting up complex and coordinated behaviors of their smart devices. Gamification elements are included in We@Home to foster the collaboration and motivate family members to help each other create the trigger-action rules managing the smart objects in their smart home.
