In dentistry, it was observed a continuously increasing in the use of conscious sedation as anxiolytic method (mild sedation) and analgesic technique (moderate sedation). The established increase of this anxiolytic/analgesic technique is due to a progressively ever more common request of dental treatments in growing phase subjects and of an increasingly common invasiveness of dental surgery, which is associated with high levels of anxiety. Since this is a medical act, even if with minimal clinical effects compared to a deep sedation and a general anesthesia (which are reserved to specialized doctors), and moreover performed on minors, it was examined whether this technique could be legally used as complementary method of a dental treatment, but also if could exist any responsibilities of operators.
